About the Duo

So why imaginarymediaimages?

It is interesting really; imaginarymediaimages (IMI) came about through the need for excellent digital printing in my studio for my artworks, as artist Eleanor Gates-Stuart. I see digital printing as a very exciting method for producing much of my work as images are often composed entirely digitally, embedding many rich visual references and unique sketches.

I have been involved with printmaking throughout my career and an advocate for all kinds of traditional, experimental and technological approaches to making prints, including interdisciplinary practice and collaboration.

Imaginarymediaimages was created to expand the studio, publish printed collections, enjoy creating images other than my own research and to offer the printing facility to others who are interested in their work being produced by us at the IMI studio, sensitive to artistic practice and with an outstanding knowledge of printmaking, digital print and production capabilities.

Of course there are other studios out there and digitally printed services, but we remain bespoke and individual in what we produce and therefore guided by own values in creativity, professional practice and quality.

So why imaginarymediaimages?

For me it’s all about the printing, being able to ensure quality of production and best results for the finished work. Given my background in commercial and fine art printing, having our own studio means I can apply my expertise to the digital process and technical aspects of imaginarymediaimages (IMI).

I have to admit my favourite colour is Pantone 268, something remaining from my early industry days and university placements, working with a range of offset, web and sheet fed, and flatbed printing. My expertise encompasses the whole of print production, working with a portfolio of clients ranging from international publishing and media companies, private and local businesses, specialist publishers of journals, catalogues, brochures, leaflets etc.

Imaginarymediaimages studio has a series of Fine Art Collections produced here in the studio using excellent archival pigments on fine papers and canvas. These are all available to purchase directly from IMI, either, on-line through our website or by appointment at our studio.

Predominantly creative, IMI has unique qualities, offering design-to-print expertise, fine art productions and excellence in digital printing.
